Worth the Scars
April 13, 2017
Publishing, much like writing, is like taking a trip down a country road in the middle of the night. No lights guide your way other than the narrow beam of the headlights on your car, the rest of the way is shrouded in darkness. There are sharp curves that come out of nowhere. Potholes that threaten to swallow your car whole. And just as the glimmer of daylight appears on the horizon, with stunning brush strokes of pink and orange, without warning, a wild animal darts out in front of you, forcing you to swerve out of its way or risk killing it.
Creating the anthology has been much like this. The road was fairly rough. But now, as we drive up to the destination and the journey finally comes to a close, we can look back and say we certainly learned so much more than we could have ever hoped for. The scars we bore from eleven car pile up, we wear with pride.
And for those who say it’s all about the journey, I say, HELL NO! Have you seen our destination? It looks amazing!! And did you notice the blurb on the back cover? That’s right! We have a glowing endorsement from Mark Leslie Lefebvre. Sometimes things happen for a reason…and this, my dears, is one amazing reason.
